Handzel Open 10 for Benefit of Gift from The Heart Foundation

We thank you from the bottom of our hearts for the privilege of being a beneficiary of your 10th Anniversary Tennis Tournament. The Gift From the Heart Foundation is a charitable organization established in 1988. It facilitates the medical treatment of seriously ill and disabled children from Poland and Eastern Europe, who do not have any chance for such treatment in their own countries. As you may know, on April 15, 2009 we had our Grand Opening ceremony of the Foundation’s Children Rehabilitation and Educational Center.

Thanks to the Center, we will be able to maintain more children, provide free time activities for them and their healthy peers from the neighborhood. These activities will be especially important for our children, who, due to their limited mobility, suffer because of being alone.

The Center means a new life in the Foundation’s activity; new significant, complex tasks, new and larger responsibility. Will we manage? Of course, we will! Having Friends like Handzel Open makes us believe it. The Center is a great success of Chicago and New York Polish-American’s.

About one hundred fifty developers, builders and contractors supported by numerous sponsors and volunteers combined their hearts, minds and talents to provide the ill and disabled children with a beautiful, modern and comfortable home. The construction of the home created an atmosphere of joy, enthusiasm and cooperation; people working together!
